United We Will Swim … Again

UNITED WE WILL SWIM… AGAIN tells the extraordinary story of a community fighting to save their local swimming pool. Govanhill Baths in Glasgow’s Southside was closed by the City Council in 2001, sparking a 147 day occupation of the building supported by a 24hr picket outside. Despite the occupation ending in a violent clash with police, the local campaigners reorganised and kept fighting. After 12 years of closure the community owned company moved back in to rebuild and refurbish the 100 year old building as a Well Being Centre.
